Only a few weeks left before the launch of the 2017 edition of Paris Design Week ! We are pleased to announce that LA Joaillerie by Mazlo will organize on this occasion an exceptional group show, in partnership with the Arketip association. Entitled “Sacrés Outils!”, this exhibition is particularly important to us. Indeed, it highlights the absolute necessity to rethink our relationship to objects and especially to manual tools. It also proves that preserving know-how is not incompatible with the use of technologies, provided that these advances do not affect the essential: creativity and human well-being. In these times of generalized burn-out, would happiness be “at the bench”? We would like to thank all our guests : Lisa & Scott Cylinder, Guillaume Delaperriere, Juanjo Garcia Martin, Xavier Moncluis, Jo Pond, Katja Prins, Quars d’una (Sandra Lluisa, Clara Niùbo , Carla Garcia Durlan, Maria Diez Serrat), Fabrizio Tridenti, Gabi Veit. Find all the relevant information about our guests by consulting their dedicated profile page on this site. And don’t forget to follow us on Instagram and Facebook for daily updates! Exhibition from 8 to 30 September 2017. Opening on September 7th, 7-9 pm.

The Jewellery by Mazlo

LA JOAILLERIE is kind of an outsider in the landscape of parisian High Jewellery. This place is indeed neither a gallery nor a shop dedicated to a brand. It is primarily indeed a dream come true for Mazlo, this unconventional author-jeweller, whose family tradition did not at all predestine to exhibit one day his own creations in a place devoted to his philosophy of art. The reason is that in the Mazloum family, jewels cannot be regarded as anything but unique and entirely handmade pieces… ssisted by a personality test, which according to the legend, was developed by the founder of the dynasty, Georgius Sayegh el-Mazloum, the master jewellers of the family successively got the reputation to know how to identify the essence of a personality before making it a portrait through the precious form of a jewel. Yet, as formative as may be the challenge of commissioned work, it could nothing but fail to exhaust the creative fever of an atypical artist like Robert Mazlo. First initiated in the fine art of Phoenician jewellery in the family workshop led by his father in Beirut, he then achieved his studies in the Mecca of the time in the realm of « classical » jewelry-making, the Istituto Benvenuto Cellini in Valenza-Pô, Northern Italy. Paradoxically, he shall go out of this tradition’s temple, graduated with […]

Last June, Karl Mazlo invited a handful of friends to a photo shoot as an introduction to his first solo show which opening will take place in November at LA Joaillerie gallery. The idea was simple: be yourself ! Each participant had to choose and wear one or more jewel(s) of the exhibition, reflecting his/her state of mind. Then each one had to take the pose and to stage him/herself with the modules (wooden sticks) that inspired the creative work of Karl. Today we reveal (finally) the photos. Thanks to vote for the one you think is the most original. The person whose portrait has won the greatest success will win one of the jewels of the “Memories” collection. Get ready to “Like”! Come and visit us for the opening of the “Memories” Exhibition, November 13 !
