Arata Fuchi

1975, Shizuoka, Japan

 

In 1999, Arata Fuchi graduated in industrial design from Tokyo Zokei University. After four years working in a watch and jewellery factory, he decided to continue his studies with an intensive goldsmith course at the Le Arti Orafe school in Florence, Italy. After graduating in 2006, he decided to set up in Florence as a goldsmith. His work is inspired by an ancient Korean technique called Keum-Boo, which he has enriched with personal research and the invention of his own technique, called ‘pulverisation’. His work has won several awards and is regularly shown in exhibitions and galleries around the world. Her work can be found in private and public collections, including the Alice and Louis Koch Collection in Zurich, Switzerland, and the Copper Hewitt, Smithonian Design Museum in New York, USA. Arata Fuchi lives and works in Florence, Italy.
