Benedict Haener

Born in 1992, Benedict Haerner lives and works in Lucerne, Switzerland. After completing a traditional apprenticeship as a goldsmith and jeweler, he studied industrial design at GBS St. Gallen and then continued his training with a BA XS Jewelry at HSLU Lucerne in order to combine design and practice. His wearable works appeal as much for their technical sophistication and playful character as for their disconcerting familiarity. Haener challenges conventions with irony and wit. He questions notions of value and preciousness by developing new qualities using innovative techniques and processes.
