Gisbert Stach
1963, Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany
Gisbert Stach initially trained as a goldsmith at the Staatliche Berufsfachschule für Glas und Schmuck in Kaufbeuren- Neugablonz. From 1988 to 1990, he studied sculpture and jewellery-making under artist and jeweler Peter Skubic at the University of Applied Sciences for Art and Design in Cologne. From 1991 to 1996, he joined the Munich Academy of Fine Arts to study art jewelry under Professor Otto Künzli. His work can be found in numerous museum and private collections, including Die Neue Sammlung – Design Museum, Munich, Germany ; Fondazione Cominelli, San Felice, Italy ; Museum of Modern Art, Tarragona, Spain ; Museum of Arts and Crafts, Itami, Japan ; Art Gallery, Legnica, Poland ; Museum of Bohemian Paradise, Turnov, Czech Republic ; Amber Museum, Gdansk, Poland. In addition to numerous solo exhibitions such as Schmuck und Experiment organized during the 2019 edition of Munich Schmuck Woche by the Bayerischer Kunstgewerbeverein gallery, his work is frequently featured in group shows, including the Medusa exhibition at the Musée d’art moderne de la ville de Paris in 2017. Gisbert Stach lives and works in Graefelfing and Munich.
