Judy McCaig

A multi-disciplinary artist, Judy McCaig works in jewellery, printmaking and painting. Born in Edinburgh in 1957, she first studied art and jewellery at the Duncan of Jordanstone School of Art in Dundee, Scotland, from 1975 to 1979. In 1980, she did a postgraduate year in jewellery and photography and was awarded a Scottish Education Department Major Travel Scholarship. In 1983, she obtained a Master of Arts degree from the Royal College of Art in London. After her university studies, she travelled extensively throughout Europe. Back in London, she studied printmaking for three years and set up her own studio. Since 2001, she has taught at the Massana School of Art in Barcelona, and since 2009 at Taller Perill in Barcelona. She is a regular guest lecturer at schools in the United States, Germany, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, Chile, Argentina and Canada. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the world. She has lived and worked in Barcelona, Spain, since 1991.
