Lluis Comin

1958, Barcelona, Spain

Lluís Comín Vilajosana was taught the jewellery craft by his father. At the University of Barcelona, he obtained a degree in gemology, specialising in diamond expertise, before going on to study jewellery design at the Massana school under the guidance of Ramon Puig Cuyas. Despite a very promising start that led to numerous exhibitions, including the memorable “Joies de Catalunya” organised by the Schmuckmuseum in Pforzheim, he abruptly decided to give up creating experimental jewellery in 1985. 2014 marked his return to the contemporary jewellery scene, of which he has become an active and recognised member. He is now a regular participant in major international group exhibitions, including Gioielli in Fermento, Italy, the Joya jewellery fair in Barcelona, the Beijing International Jewelry Art Exhibition, China, and travelling exhibitions with the Influences collective.
