Sebastia Macià

1961, Barcelona, Spain

Sebastià Macià studied at the Massana school from 1984 to 1989, graduating with a degree in applied arts, specializing in jewelry design. Winner of a scholarship awarded by his school, he studied for a further year with Ramon Puig Cuyàs. In 1990, he won third prize in a competition organized by Niessing in Spain. Until 1992, he took part in numerous group exhibitions in Barcelona and in several galleries in the Netherlands (Marzee Gallery, Nijmegen), Germany and the United States. His promising career then came to an abrupt halt, and for twenty-five years he put his artistic work on hold. In 2017, he returned to the exhibition circuit as a member of the Catalan collective Joyas Sensacionales, directed and coordinated by Silvia Walz.
