Kaori Juzu
1978, Fukuoka, Japan
Born in 1978 in Fukuoka, Japan, Kaori Juzu lives and works on the island of Bornholm, Denmark. After graduating in Hispanic Philology from Sofia University in Tokyo, she decided to train in the art of jewelry, thanks to a trip to Europe, which led her to Denmark. After a first year of jewelry training at Bornholm’s Folk High School for Art, she began an apprenticeship in the workshop of artist Per Suntum. In 2008, she became a goldsmith and began her personal artistic practice.
Kaori Juzu’s work can be found in private and public collections, including: in Denmark, the Designmuseum Denmark in Copenhagen, the Koldinghus Museum, the Danish Arts Foundation ; the Cominelli Foundation in Felice, Italy. In 2023, she was a finalist for the Loewe Craft Prize.
